Ep #20: Clearing the Clutter

Podcast

March 18, 2020

Clearing the ClutterSpringtime is almost here, and many of us will get the urge to clean things out and declutter when it arrives. Tawana has recently been going through some changes and clearing out her house and, along with it, her emotions. She’s sharing that process with us today and talking a bit more about why decluttering can be such a transformative process.

As Tawana has been letting go of old clothes, she’s had to navigate the many emotions and memories that have gone with them. In order to make room for the new version of herself and the new game she’s playing, Tawana has allowed herself to sit with these feelings and move through them gracefully – rather than forcing her way through.

In this episode, you’ll hear about Tawana’s decluttering journey, why she felt now was the right time to clear space, and the effect it’s had on her energy. We also talk about why organizing is not the same as decluttering and how clearing the clutter can help your energy flow more freely. And, we chat about how getting rid of the excess can allow you to simply be with yourself in a more grounded and certain way.

What You’ll Learn from this Episode:

  • Why it can be so emotional to let go of old belongings and the feelings/memories that are attached to them.
  • Why it takes courage to thoroughly declutter your life.
  • How our things define us (but also can hold us back).
  • What’s on the other side of decluttering and allowing this transformative energy to enter your life.
  • How Tawana has learned to be herself and play this new game with energy, certainty, and preparedness.
